Chandigarh, 3rd January the first Sunday of 2010 . On this morning , braving the chilly weather and drizzle , 20 of Chandigarh's citizens went to the 'Open Hand Monument' , with monosyllable placards ,standing hand in hand in solidarity to convey a loud message very subtly " Free The Open Hand " , so as to reclaim the legacy , our own monument, the Common man's monument - The Open Hand.
The place which was intended to be the Mecca of Democracy where people could come, discuss the problems of the city and come out with solutions, today lies far away from Common man's reach!
